Christmas 2011 - Let's All Get Ready!

Ho Ho Ho!

I am so happy that fall is in the air.  The reindeer all seem to know that Christmas will soon be upon us and they are getting excited to make the "Ride Around The World" this year.

This week they are all being visited by the North Pole veterinarian to have their annual checkups to be sure they are all as healthy and strong as they can be prior to leaving the North Pole on December 24th!  They have been exercising especially well in preparation of our long flight and they should all pass their checkups with flying colors!  Rudolph's red nose seems to get just a little bit brighter each year about this time with the excitement and anticipation of another Christmas season.

We did take a quick test flight over the Rocky Mountains this week - what a marvelous sight it was to see all of the ripe orange pumpkins ready for harvest in the luscious green fields below!  Our test flight went well and without a hitch - I believe we are almost ready to load the sleigh with gifts for boys, girls, and even pets that are on Santa's Nice List this year!  You will want to be on Santa's list this year, won't you?

Well, Santa is needed over at the Reindeer Barn so I need to sign off for now.  Be your best and we will visit you sooner than you can imagine . . .

School Time!

Ho Ho Ho!

It has been a very busy summer, putting together many, many, special gifts.

Mrs. Claus & I just wanted to let you all know that we are thinking of you as this school year begins.  Please be extra careful as you travel to school, home and various other activities.  Look both ways when crossing streets and look out for one another - before you know it, it will be Christmas!

Reindeer Family Reunion

Ho Ho Ho!

I am writing to you today from the Yukon Territory of Canada.  I was asked to fly our reindeer over here for their family reunion where they will associate with their larger family of reindeer aunts, uncles and cousins.

How has your summertime been?  It has been very warm in many areas and there has been a good amount of flooding in many regions as well.  I want you to know that Santa is aware of the many folks that have been forced to move and also those that choose to move around while most schools are out for the summer months.

Well, it looks like Donner and Blitzen are starting up some reindeer games, so I had better pay a bit more attention and let them know how much I enjoy watching those games . . .  Take care until next time!

A Gentle Little Reminder . . .

Ho Ho Ho!

I was thinking about you just this morning!  I was thinking it would be a good idea to gently remind you that Santa is often looking for the good deeds that are produced around the world as well as some other deeds to the contrary - you know, for the list!

I have also noticed that many of my friends have completed another year in school and are moving up another grade.  Congratulations one and all!  Take the time to smile your very best smile to someone having a rough time - it will help them to know that you think kindly of them!

Thank you . . .

Ho Ho Ho!

I would like to thank those men and women that serve and have served their countries around the world for helping to keep us all safe.  Thousands of these brave men and women have given their lives for the comforts of others.  The world is truly a better place as a result of their efforts.

Maybe we could all learn a little something from the lives these folks have led. I know I want to help make the world a better place and I do try.  Can Santa count on you to help make your part of the world a little bit better? . . .

Happy Mother's Day . . .

Ho Ho Ho!

I just wanted to say to all of you wonderful mothers out in the world that I love each and every one of you!  I know we work together on so many things around the Christmas holidays, but I want you to know we couldn't do it without all of the help that you so selflessly provide.  May the choicest of blessings be with you always!

The Loving Mrs. Claus

Ho Ho Ho!

I hope your world is spinning just fine for you!  I love to see good things going well for you and all of my special friends everywhere -  I really do!

I wanted to let you all know how much Mrs. Claus means to me.  She is my best friend, she is my go-to person in good times and in less than good times, which are unavoidable as you well know.  She takes such good care of me all the time, and believe me, that is not an easy chore for anyone.  Mrs. Claus supports me in so many ways - I have truly married out-of-my-league - and I love her beyond that which is understood by words.

My love for Mrs. Claus comes from somewhere deep in my heart.  I am so thankful for her and for the great example of selflessness that she sets for our family and for all of us here at the North Pole.

I am certain of this - The entire world is better off because of her influence . . .

Witnesses of Nature

Ho Ho Ho!

Happy April to you!  We have been so involved in our new conveyor system here at the North Pole that I nearly lost sight of the beautiful April weather and the change of the seasons!

As Mrs. Claus and I walk about after a long day, we see the beautiful robins flying around, tidying things up from the long winter.  We see small buds on many of the trees, letting us know that gorgeous green leaves are about to emerge on the limbs.  We also see little ones that have just been born - bunnies, fawns, chicks, and pups!

I certainly hope you take the time to look around at all of the little miracles that we are blessed with witnessing.  It makes one thoughtful to know how lucky we truly are in this old world . . .

Signs of Spring!

Ho Ho Ho!

How are you my friend?  Has winter lasted long enough already?  Are you looking forward to spring weather?

I have seen quite a few signs of spring this week - the air is more balmy, the bulbs are sending parts of flowers up through the ground, the lawns are beginning to green, there are little buds on some of the trees, and the elves have been spending their afternoons flying their very colorful kites in the breezes of springtime!

I am sure we will still see some late season snow, but the signs of spring are certainly amongst us!  Take care and get your seeds ready to plant - before you know it, our growing season will be here!

Reindeer Soccer Game

Ho Ho Ho!

I hope your winter has been as splendid as ours has been here at the great North Pole!  I wanted to tell you about the wonderful time we all had at the annual Reindeer Soccer Game recently!

We had all of our fantastic reindeer involved in a very fun soccer game that was played in about 3 feet of snow - it looked like a blizzard at times with all of the reindeer prancing and running up and down the field.  When you have 4 legs on that many speedy players you can imagine the snow that was flying all around us.  The game ended in a 3-3 tie and good sportsmanship was shown by all!  Everyone played well and had an arctic blast!

Mrs. Claus made hot chocolate by the gallons and had special treats for all of the reindeer players, too.  It was simply a special event that we all genuinely enjoyed.  I Ho Ho Ho'd for hours while watching them all play . . .

Family, Friends, and A Better Year!

Ho Ho Ho!

Happy Day my friends!

Just a quick update on the North Pole family fun.  We had some very close friends invite us to dinner just last evening and we had a great meal, enjoyed great friends, and shared some terrific memories.

We also shared with each other our plans for the future and plans of our family members.  We ended with a slice of splendid pie and of course, a little bit of popcorn was available as well!

What plans do you have to make this year better than last year?

I truly believe that we can make every year better than the last if we will set our minds to the task and stay focused on the successes we can have.  Plan your way to a better year - start right now.  It is never too late to improve yourself!

A Conversation With A Loyal Elf

Ho Ho Ho!

Today I am sharing with you a conversation I recently had with one of our hard working elves . . .

Elf : Excuse me sir, may I talk to you?

Santa
: Sure, come on in. What can I do for you my friend?

Elf
: Well Santa, as you know, I have been a loyal employee of this jolly group for over ten years.

Santa : Yes, I must say, a very hard working and loyal elf indeed . . .

Elf
: I won't beat around the bush - Santa, I would like a raise. I currently have four companies after me, so I decided to talk to you before I make any commitments to any of them.  Again sir, a part of my loyalty!

Santa
: A raise you say? I would certainly love to give you a raise, but the timing is just not right.

Elf
: I understand your position, Santa, and I know that the current economic down turn has had a negative impact on everyone, but you must also take into consideration my hard work, my pro-activeness in getting difficult assignments completed and loyalty to you and your Christmas efforts for well over a decade now.

Santa
: Taking into account these ALL of these factors, and justifying that I don't want to start a new training session at this time, I'm willing to offer you a 10% raise and an extra five days of vacation time annually, taken by mid-year mind you. Fair enough, my friend?

Elf
: Great Santa! That's a very fair offer in my opinion! Thank you for understanding, Santa!

Santa
: Before you go my friend, and simply out of curiosity, which  four companies were after you?

Elf
: Oh, they were the Electric Company, Gas Company, Water Company and the Mortgage Company!

North Pole Family Party

Ho Ho Ho!

How are you, my good friend?  How are your family members doing?  I hope you are keeping your spirits up as well as your thermostat in this chilly winter season.

Mrs. Claus had a HUGE party last night for all of our family and friends here at the North Pole!  Everyone had plenty to eat, plenty of great conversation, and the warm feelings one with another was ideal!  We surely are blessed to have such a great group of friends and family.  We reminisced about many family members that have left this existence and moved on in the eternities.  We certainly miss each and every one of them . . .

Take care for now - we will stay in touch.  Simply check back here from time to time!

Beautiful Sunny Day

Ho Ho Ho!

What a beautiful sunny day it is here at the North Pole!  The sun is just glistening across the snow flakes making the entire area look like it has been landscaped in small little diamonds!  It is awe-inspiring to say the least.

How is the weather where you are right now?  Do you have snow?  With all of the elves outside working with the reindeer in our cold weather, it looks like a big cloud of steam as they all breathe in and out.  It is well below freezing all day long with the morning hours especially nippy.  I have just built Mrs. Claus a very toasty fire to stay comfortable - she certainly appreciates the warmth that our fireplace provides for the entire home.

Well, I must head over to the Toy Shop to see how things are looking for our production of new gifts for our Christmas Eve flight.  You stay warm and be good - you know I will be checking my list throughout the year!

Ice Rain

Ho Ho Ho!

Have you ever experienced "Ice Rain"?  The North Pole is usually pretty chilly this time of year but a warm spell brought the temps up to near 40 degrees the past few days.

We had plenty of rain for three days then a polar blast of cold air followed right behind the warm days and froze everything!  Even the reindeer were slipping and sliding around - they are typically very sure-footed!  Well at least all of the trees and power lines are encased with a clear coat of sparkling ice that really gives a special shine!  We have many of the elves out and about spreading sand on the roads and walkways so others won't slip and become injured.

You take care of yourselves - we want you to remain strong and healthy for a long time to come . . . Say, how are you doing with your new goals for this year?  You know I'll be checking on you!

Can You Feel The Newness?

Ho Ho Ho!

Hello all!  Well, we are a week into the new year - can you feel the newness, the hope, the encouragement that a new year brings?

We are already setting up the Toy Shop for next year's gifts - it is quite an undertaking to prepare for such a change, but you know, change is good for all of us.  It helps each one of us to be a little flexible and to help us to see the world from different point of view!

What changes are you seeing already in this new year?  Are you setting some specific goals to help make this year better than last year?  We can accomplish much if we will focus on the effort - trust me on that one . . .
